French tour operator O’VOYAGES will launch new direct charter flights from Paris to Kajaani for the upcoming winter season 2026–2027. The first flight is scheduled for 5 December 2026, with a total of 15 flights operating until 20 March 2027. The new programme strengthens France’s direct connectivity to Arctic Lakeland Finland and complements the existing French tourism activity in the region.
The flights operate from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on a direct rotation to Kajaani Airport on Saturdays, the gateway to Arctic Lakeland Finland. From Kajaani airport, transfer time to destination is approximately 40 minutes, providing French travellers with quick and easy access to Vuokatti and the wider Kainuu destinations.
Demand for Northern Finland winter holidays continues to grow in the French market. The new O’VOYAGES programme builds on this momentum and expands the supply of ready-made packages combining flights, accommodation and guided activities for French consumers.
O’VOYAGES brings French customers to the Kainuu region through ready-made “Vacances Vuokatti” travel packages. The offering focuses on the Vuokatti area and combines flights, transfers, accommodation and a programme of authentic Finnish winter activities. The packages are available on the operator’s website at ovoyages.com.
“The new O’VOYAGES charter from Paris is an important step for Arctic Lakeland Finland. Direct connections from major European source markets are essential for the region’s long-term competitiveness, and France is a key growth market for our winter tourism. The programme strengthens Kajaani Airport’s role as the gateway to Arctic Lakeland Finland and brings new customer flows to accommodation providers, activity operators and restaurants across the region”, says Aija Laukkanen, CEO of Vuokatti Tourism Ltd and Project Manager of the Arctic Lakeland Finland Charter project
This is excellent news for the upcoming winter season: the introduction of new O‑Voyages winter packages in the Vuokatti region. French travellers can now discover Vuokatti’s stunning snowy landscapes and enjoy a wide range of winter activities. Visit Finland is supporting O‑Voyages through a marketing partnership to raise awareness of Vuokatti and its unique offering in the French market.” Sanna Tuononen, Country Manager – France, Visit Finland.
Winter nature experiences are at the heart of O’VOYAGES’ Arctic Lakeland Finland packages and are a key motivation for French travellers. The offering includes guided excursions such as husky and snowmobile safaris, snowshoeing, ice fishing, cross-country skiing introductions and northern lights tours. Activities are delivered in cooperation with local Vuokatti-area entrepreneurs and tour service providers, ensuring an authentic experience of Finnish winter nature.
This new charter programme from Paris is highly significant for Vuokatti Safaris and the entire Vuokatti region. We very much look forward to welcoming French travellers and serving them across our full range of activities, says Samuli Junttila, CEO, Vuokatti Safaris Ltd.
